First run
- Install and start the program — it appears in the notification area.
- Press the capture hotkey; the screen dims and the magnifier follows the cursor.
- Drag a rectangle, or click a window, or press Space for the whole monitor.
- Annotate if you need to, then press Enter to save or Ctrl+C to copy.
Working with objects
- Drag inside an object to move it; drag a handle to resize it.
- An arrow has handles at both ends; a caption has handles at the corners that change the type size; a frame and a blur have eight.
- Arrow keys move by one pixel, with Shift by ten.
- Delete removes the selected object.
- To come back to an object later, switch to Select with
Vand click it.
The property bar in the middle of the top row changes with the selected object: colour and thickness for an arrow, frame or highlighter; colour, font and outline for a caption; strength, shape and style for a blur. Controls that do not apply are not shown at all.
Crop and rotation
With the crop tool, drag the rectangle to keep — the rest dims — adjust it by its handles if needed, then double-click inside it. Rotation turns the frame with all of its annotations. Both are undone with Ctrl+Z like anything else.
Watermark and timestamp
Both are configured on their own tab and applied over the annotations. The timestamp — and the mark, in corner mode — can be dragged with the Select tool, and will not leave the frame. Moving it affects the current shot only; the corner in the settings stays as it was.
When either is enabled, a button appears on the toolbar (W) that removes the mark from this shot without touching the settings. Pressing it again brings it back.
