Before you install
Windows
An installer named *-setup.exe registers the program in the Start menu and creates an uninstaller. A build without setup in the name is portable: it runs from wherever you put it and writes its settings next to itself.
Linux
A .deb package installs with sudo apt install ./file.deb, which pulls in what it needs and sets up the service. A plain binary needs only chmod +x.
Architecture
amd64 is an ordinary 64-bit PC or server; arm64 covers Raspberry Pi 4 and 5, Orange Pi and most modern boards; armhf is for 32-bit ARM. uname -m tells you which one you have.
Android
An APK installs directly; Android will ask you to allow installation from this source once.
SmartScreen on WindowsThe installers are not signed with a commercial certificate, so Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” panel the first time. “More info” → “Run anyway” starts the installer. The warning is about the absence of a paid signature, not about the contents of the file.
